On Monday, Major League Baseball announced the current standings in the National League All-Star vote race.  The votes are cast by fans, and apparently some fans are not paying attention to the game this year.  To my surprise, Jimmy Rollins is leading the SS position in votes.  He is currently in a season long slump, and the worst start of his career.  Yet fans are voting for him. 

He leads Hanley Ramirez by 60,000 votes.  That is absolutely ridiculous. Hanley has a higher batting average, more home runs, more runs, more hits, more doubles, more RBIs, more total bases, high OBP, and a higher slugging percentage.  This is the reason why people want to take the vote away from fans.  They vote for their favorites instead of whoever is playing the best. 

Vote for Hanley Ramirez.  He deserves to go the All-Star game, and Jimmy Rollins does not.
